Internships<\/h3>\n

The Official Master’s Degree in Criminological and Victimological Intervention requires 120 hours of internships in centers and institutions related to this postgraduate program throughout Spain. The Cr\u00edmina Center for the Study and Prevention of Crime has numerous agreements (in addition to those that may be obtained at the request of the student) that allow our students to complete their practical credits in institutions such as:<\/p>\n

Penitentiary Centers<\/h4>\n

Penitentiary centers are architecturally designed with a modular typology that creates spaces facilitating daily life in prison and serves the dual function of custody and rehabilitation. These centers aim to be effective tools for the education and reintegration of inmates while ensuring their security and the fulfillment of sentences. Each department, module, or unit within the penitentiary is guaranteed equal access to general services and specific provisions aligned with the goals of the penitentiary system.<\/p>\n

Social Integration Centers<\/h4>\n

Social Integration Centers are penitentiary establishments intended for serving sentences under an open regime and overseeing non-custodial sentences as established by penal legislation and attributed to the corresponding services of the Ministry of Justice and Interior or the competent regional authority. These centers also monitor conditionally released individuals assigned to them. The primary objective in these centers is to enhance the positive social integration capabilities of the inmates through activities and treatment programs that facilitate their reintegration into society.<\/p>\n

Victim Support Offices<\/h4>\n

Victim Support Offices cater to all types of crime victims, particularly those affected by violent crimes resulting in death, severe injuries, or damage to physical or mental health, as well as victims of sexual crimes. These offices can assist the direct victim or their family members or dependents if the crime has impacted them. The main objectives include general legal orientation to prevent secondary victimization, specific legal guidance for domestic violence victims, and psychosocial assistance to victims.<\/p>\n

Law Enforcement Agencies<\/h4>\n

The Cr\u00edmina Center for the Study and Prevention of Crime maintains close relations with state law enforcement agencies in Spain, responsible for maintaining public order and security, and for crime prevention and investigation. At the national level, two police bodies depend on the Ministry of the Interior:<\/p>\n

\u2022 National Police Corps
\n\u2022 Civil Guard<\/p>\n

Additionally, Spain’s territorial organization allows autonomous communities to create their own police forces, provided this option is included in their respective Statutes of Autonomy. Currently, these include:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mossos d’Esquadra in Catalonia
\n\u2022 Ertzaintza in the Basque Country
\n\u2022 Foral Police in Navarra
\n\u2022 Canary Police in the Canary Islands<\/p>\n

Local municipalities also have Local Police stations (also known as municipal police or urban guards), which can also serve as internship locations.<\/p>\n

Family Meeting Points<\/h4>\n

Family Meeting Points are free, universal, and specialized resources located in neutral and appropriate physical spaces to facilitate the compliance of visitation regimes in family crisis or breakup situations. <\/p>\n

These centers ensure children’s rights to interact with both parents and other relatives safely through temporary psychological, educational, and legal intervention by well-trained professionals. They are staffed by a multidisciplinary and specialized team.<\/p>\n

\n

Research Centers<\/h4>\n

University spaces dedicated to specialized scientific research in criminology applied to the analysis of criminal phenomena and the design, treatment, evaluation, and application of crime prevention strategies and techniques in both public and private sectors. Other centers, such as Fundaci\u00f3n Diagrama, focus on developing and managing centers and programs for the prevention, treatment, and reintegration of at-risk or socially excluded groups.<\/p>\n

Provincial Courts and Other Judicial Tribunals<\/h4>\n

Provincial Courts are judicial tribunals located in the capital of the province, exercising jurisdiction over the entire province, including criminal penitentiary matters, which are of particular interest to our students to understand the daily dynamics in the administration of justice.<\/p>\n

These various internship opportunities provide students with practical experience and a deeper understanding of the criminological and victimological fields, enhancing their professional development and employability.<\/p>\n
